Camp Wisdom Cub World Fort (under
development)
This page should help you understand the operation of the
BB gun range in the fort.
Before the scouts arrive:
- Get the guns, BBs and Flag from the ranger. You may have to meet
the ranger at the armory.
- Make sure the guns are working properly.
- Place one on the ledge in each of the window.
- Once the gun has been placed in the window, the muzzle should stay out
side until all shooting for the day has been completed.
Range Operation:
- Bring the scouts into the briefing area for their safety briefing.
- Make sure they know that they can not touch the guns until they are told
to.
- In a line they go into the range and stand against the rail which is the
ready line.
- Allow them to move up to the shooting positions on the firing line, but
do not allow them to touch the guns.
- Last minute safety and Range commands.
- Cease Fire.
- Insure that the range is safe.
- Allow the scouts to proceed in a line, out the door to pick up their
targets.
- Scouts come back into the fort through the other door and exit the
range..
After Shooting Activities are complete:
- Make sure the guns are unloaded and it is not cocked. The guns
should be stored with the spring NOT compressed.
- Make sure the safety is on.
- Return them to the ranger;
